Jigoku-numa, literally translated as “Hell pond”. No plants can survive because of the hot water (98℃) from the bottom and strong acid. Created by the eruption of a volcano at Hakkoda, you can smell the difference and see the steam on the surface. Check out this volcanic phenomenon at Hakkoda!
